contax mirotar 500/8 which mutar

<p>does anyone know which mutar is recomended for the mirotar 500/8. The Zeiss site recomends the mutar II or III for the mirotar 500/4.5 but does not list the 500/8. thank you for your time.</p>

<p>Mark....the Mirotar 500/8 was introduced in 1997, so I think I am right in saying this was the last new lens introduced into the Contax lens range before Contax ceased to exist. It may well be that Contax released little or no brochures/sales info as late as 1997 onwards.</p>

<p>I know this is little help, but you could try the contaxinfo dot com site. You need to find either a very late Contax lens leaflet/brochure, or a web copy, or a brochure or web copy of an actual 500/8 lens spec sheet....although even that may not contain Mutar matching info.</p>

I didn't realize that this was the last lens made by Contax. That would explain the lack of literature available. I will keep searching or I will get both mutars and try them out.</p>
