Canon Mark iii 1D card error

<p>I have started to notice lately that when I put in a new card I get alot of "CARD ERROR","CARD1 NOT FORMATTED" messages. Now Every card I put into the camera I get the same message. The cards I am using are the same 4 I always use. I was also in a photo shop today and they gave me one of their cards to try and I got the same message. I reset the camera settings but I cannot get past this message. Any Ideas<br />Thanks</p>

<p>Look into the cardslot if one of the pins is bent.</p>

<p>I agree, look in the slot, look for bent pins or a piece of lint.<br>

If it is a bent pin, you'll have to send to in to be fixed.</p>

<p>This happened with an old Nikon 8800 P&S camera I had also. I accidentally inserted the CF card upside down and bent one of the pins. This is easier to do than it seems, unfortunately. It is very hard to straighten out the pins again since they are relatively hard, brittle metal and break off before they can be properly straightened. I had to have mine repaired. As the others have said, check the pins on the CF connector.<br /><br /><br />I hope this helps!</p>
