robert_landrigan
Well, was going to load up my Kiev 60 for a fun night of 3200 shooting, and as I opened the back, I saw a small tear in the cloth? shutter...which became a HUGE rip after one more advancement. Has this happen to anyone else, or is a frequent problem? I doubt I will replace the body...well, I am still thinking about it, the freedom of having a MF camera that can get stolen is nice:) However, if anyone wants a TTL finder or 80mm 2.8, they're yours for the postage:)
art_haykin
I don't think anyone would steal that Kiev.
robert_landrigan
Grin:) Maybe I should keep it as a decoy body:) Of course, now that I go looking around for just a Keiv 60 body, there's none to be found. Pah. TYime to start looking for a Fuji RF, I guess...
pete_andrews
It's probably the best thing that could have happened to a Kiev60. Now you have the excuse to get a proper camera, and not a tincan with a hole for a lens on the front.<br>Sorry. I'm not intending to be mean or rude to you personally, but I've now handled half a dozen Kiev 60s, all with assembly faults, in addition to their in-built design faults, and not one of them was fit to be used for serious photography. allan_jamieson2
You'd be much better off with one of the Fuji Rangefinders as you were suggesting yourself there. I'd recommend the GSW690 with fixed 65mm lens, I've got a mark 2 version of that camera and it is absolutely superb. If you prefer standard lenses, there is always the GW690 version with a fixed 90mm lens instead. Better luck with your next camera Robert!
james_gumm
I am interested in the meter prism from your Kiev 60. I am sorry about the problems you have. I have been lucky. My Kneb 60 has a wlf and 80 and the shutter spacing actualyl is working fine, one of the few I've seen. I'm very careful with the camera and it makes a nice picture, sometimes. greg_w1
Torn curtains do not normaly happen by themselves. It is more likely that the cutain tape may break after many years , but still , it is not common. I don't think we are hearing the full story in this question.
