des adams
Is an adaptor required to fit a filter on a Panasonic LX3 or will a Panasonic protection filter screw directly onto the lens? Thanks.

john_mccormack
I use the Lensmate adapter on my LX3. Go to http://lensmateonline.com/newsite/LeicaLX3.html
The price is reasonable and the quality and service from Lensmate is excellent (I have no affiliation with the company.)

MTC Photography
If you intend to use an adapter on LX3 for filter/PL filter/uv filter, then you can use third party adapter.
I bought two third party adapters for LX3, a 46mm adatper and a 52mm adapter
Then I bought an original PANASONIC DMW-LA4 adapter for my DMW-LW46 converter lens. since LX3 + LW46 cost quite a bit, I don't want to save a few dollars by using third party adapter, just as I don't want to use third party wide angle lens on LX3.
Now when I go out without wide angle adapter, I use the third party 52mm adatper, it looks
better on the camera. However when I use wide angle lens LW46, I always use the real thing, not third party thing
