Amherst has a wide ranging series of how-to guides, and one I've thumbed through - which was quite to the point in practical terms - was <em><strong><a href="http://www.laurphoto.com/prdr/mlg_portraits">Master Lighting Guide for Portrait Photographers</a></strong> </em>by Christopher Grey.
