I just received my repaired Mk3 from Canon for the peripheral focus point adjustment. All of my personal settings were restored to factory defaults. Luckily, I made a backup which is available as a menu option and quickly restored my custom settings. A word to the wise. BTW, the whole process went smoothly and I had the camera back within a week.
I have not had a chance to test the repair yet, but will this weekend.

Yes, mine went well too. Luckily I decided to check it prior to using mine after it returned. Mine hit my door stepon a tuesday at 3pm and I opened it, put the strap back on it and shot a game at 4pm. I had to fix all kinds of settings just before the first pitch. But I just had to test it.

Its better than its ever been. Very happy now. Like a different camera

What is wrong with the MkIII models that they have to go back to Canon for service already? Spending from $4-8,000 on a body and having to send it in to get worked on isn't too good a deal even if Canon pays for the shipping. Sure does not inspire confidence.
