lucas_jarvis
Does anyone have any links to companies that make Lightroom keyboards?
I'm looking for one that would have sliders much like the slider bars in the software. One for explosure, one for colour balance and so on. I'm aware that you can press <+> and <Shift><+> to quickly change the slider that you currently have selected, but anytime you need to change to another slider you have to toggle through them. I would like to avoid this so if anyone has any ideas that would be great.

mark_sirota1
The only dedicated Lightroom keyboard I know of is RPGkeys . No sliders, though.

You can move select the next or previous slider using . and , but that's not the same thing as having real mechanical slider controls...

I've seen talk of people adapting MIDI controllers for things like this, but have never seen that in action (or for sale). But look around, maybe it's out there...
farski
I'm pretty sure what you're looking for would be nearly impossible to make. first, it would be something like 50+ sliders to get all the ones from the Develop module, and second, what happens when you change images? You're looking for powered sliders that will match the values of the image? Going to start looking like real quick...

unless I'm miss understanding you

philfx
Lucas,
Not sure if you got a chance to look at the Logitech G15...
the RPG keys look like a great sollution, specially if you dont want it attached to the Keyboard. The G15 is basically the same idea, except you have to go through the shortcut paths and then save it to the key you want, and it is attached, part of the keyboard. Which is nice to have right at your fingers. When you are finished saving, you printout a template that sits over the keys to refer to them until you know them. If you want to make key strokes (ANY key stroke) that are custom and not standard, you can also do this(A super feature). You have up to 54 shortcuts. Kinda nice for $50-70, when you look RPG starting at $200 $700 (wow)and up
lucas_jarvis
Will it work like the RPG Keyboard? The RPG allows functions that aren't even keyboard shortcuts. If I had a keyboard that had programable macro's it wouldn't matter if lightroom itself didn't have a shortcut for the command. I'm not sure how the RPG keyboard works around this, it must have something to do with the software it comes with. Maybe it alters the program or something. If this 'super feature' you mention is some kind of workaround, then this would be a cheaper solution for sure.
philfx
Hi Lucas,
It can record your navigation, for example, Alt Image(I), mode(m), 8bit (a) or using arrows, etc. It looks like the old G15 is replaced with the G11. The new G15 has less keys.
Once you set it up, you can print a visual template that goes over the keys. Less than $60! might be worth trying.
timothy_riley
Hi All,
Tim here from RPG KEYS. Lucas is correct in his above statements. The RPG KEY program has given key stroke control to parts of Lightroom that have not been possible using the methods mentioned above. Being a vendor I have to be careful what I say on the forum.

But keep in mind that people who do try the RPG products are protected by a guarantee. If you purchase the product and dont like it, you can return it. We have only ever had 3 returned :-)

I will watch the forum for specific questions if you have them.

Cheers
tim

www.rpgkeys.com
