dave_korstrom
Just wondering what the difference between the SC-17 and 28 ? (D200 & SB600) Also your commments on cords from Hong Kong and China, Are they knock-offs, and could they be detremental to use (voltage issues running through cord) Thanks
User_276104
They appear to be identical except for the fact that the SC-28 cord points to the left side (non-shutter release) of the camera, while the SC-17 points forward over the lens. I've had an SC-17 for years but rarely use it.

In case you do much off-camera flash photography in low light, I'd recommend looking at the SC-29 because it has the red AF assist light in the attachment that slides into the hot shoe.

No comments or experience with the knock-offs.

Eric
dave_korstrom
I am planning alot of experimenting with multiple flash, but I think I should have a SC29 as I will be using my sb600 on a flash bracket. Thank You for the help
ShunCheung
The SC-17 and SC-28 are functionally identical. As Eric points out, the orientation of the cord is different.
See this discussion http://www.photo.net/nikon-camera-forum/008mhJ
richard_thomas9
I'm not sure but I thought the SC-28 is longer and has a hot shoe lock.
