I am lookin for a RF trigger package.
Does anybody have any comments over Paul C Buff trigger family - "CyberSync". Including one COmmander that can ( ” Its extremely low delay of 1/4000 second allows sync speeds as short as 1/2500 second on cameras capable of fast sync speed") fast Sync. Is this compatible with my D2H?
Any other Brand with reasanable prices? To setup 03 strobes that don't have recievers built-in, do I need 01 transmitter and 01 receiver ? ( thinking in triggering other ones with photo cells )

Tks, for help! Rubens

The advertised low delay has no practical meaning to you. Do not get fooled by unimportant advertised data.

Receiver and transmitter must operate on the same frequency and code, usually different brands cannot work together.

Optical triggering is much faster than radio, so mixing both in general may not work. Always there are exceptions, e.g. Nikon CLS optical operation protocol can work with radio triggered non-CLS remote flashes since the triggering portion of the CLS protocol and triggering of external non-CLS flashes happens when camera shutter is open.

The low delay does have a meaning. It means that you can shoot at your sync speed of 1/250. Some triggers have longer delays and you start seeing the shutter and need to drop to 1/200 or lower. The issues are max frame per sec of 3 (pocket wizards do more) and easy to activate buttons (can be cut down)

"Optical triggering is much faster than radio, so mixing both in general may not work." - however in a relay type triggering it will work. You trigger one remote flash by radio, and trigger the rest of the flashes optically by the first flash light. This could require possibly even slower shutter speed, as all delays add up in series. Rear shutter curtain sync may not be appropriate for relay type triggering.

Sync speed of 1/320 sec on D300 and on some D200 is usable for flash normal sync. Try this with your D2H.

The very low delay has no meaning to your D2H camera since you will not be able to achieve the 1/2500 sec advertised, except in FP mode where radio sync should not be used.
