er1 Posted January 11, 2009 Share Posted January 11, 2009 <p>I'm trying to upgrade the firmware in my 5DmarkII to the 1.0.7. version but I cannot get it to work. After transfering a 2G card with the firmware update to the 5DmarkII the camera states that "Memory card with firmware is required for update". I formatted a 2G card and downloaded the updated firmware and still have the same problem. Any suggestions? peter_foiles2 Posted January 11, 2009 Share Posted January 11, 2009 <p>You do not mention if you are using Windows or Mac but in either case you have to extract the the update file from the file that you download, you can't use the downloaded file directly. If I remember correctly the extracted file has a .fir extension. Firmware update problems are almost always the result of not following the directions that come with the update.
