fran__ois_p._weill
For me, The most wanted kind of lens beside an upgrade of AF primes over and including 35mm to the latest standard is a constant f/2 35-85mm or 35mm f/2.8 35-105mm AF-G - VR to get a true "maid of all works" daylight lens when you don't need to carry a lot of lenses in your bag and you need a fast transition from group to portrait without changing the lens (I'm talking full format FX body here). If I need a 24 or 28mm (let alone a wider lens), I prefer a manual focus lens (thank you Zeiss) for using hyper-focus or scale focusing anyway and it is a very predictable event which allows enough time to change the lens. Not so when you need to detail the faces of each person in a group and get a group shot in short order. The now standard 24-70mm "trans-standard" zoom is too short for a true portrait and this is more bothering in practice to have to change a lens to get a true portrait focal length than to change a lens between a moderate wide angle and a very wide one. polizonte
A 14-24 f 2.8 AFS if I could afford one or if it existed, a less expensive but equally corrected & sharp prime 20mm or 24 f2.8 AFS that could be used with filters.
