clint_carr
Hi All, What is this mark? It is on all photos. The only thing I can think of is that it is censor related? http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v616/ashvsaod/Spring_bird1of1.jpg<div></div>
nathan_meador
can you post the whole image? Or maybe another example? Maybe dust on the sensor.
salimelakoui
Generally, when I have dust on my photos, it is bigger, transparent and black thing. I never saw this before. :/ Did you try to clean up your CCD? Is your camera under warranty?
bueh
Hot Pixel.
cabbiinc
If it's in all the photos in the same spot then it's dust on the sensor. If your unfamiliar with cleaning your sensor then take your camera in to get it cleaned. Yes it will cost you, but so would wcrewing up your sensor as well. geowelch
Could be sensor just needs cleaning. Is this an DSLR or point and shoot?
clint_carr
Hi All, It is a DSLR (Nikon D40x) and whilst I have seen dust bunnies before (grey smudges) this looks like something much worse. The issue hasnt always been there. But since it started (unable to determine) it is now on every photo in the same location. I will take the camera to get cleaned. But I am nervous that it is a hot pixel (whatever that means) :( Thanks again.
jenkins
Clint i thought the D40x had its own self cleaning mechanism?
clint_carr
Hi Simon, Not from what I can see. I have used the Mirror raise and used a blower to get rid of dust in the past. This is different. From all my research it looks like this sort of this is relatively common and part and parcel with DSLR's. It is easy to fix in PS so I am going to ignore it. Thanks for everyones responses.
