friedemann_pistorius
Hi all,
would a lens currently mounted in a (dead) Seiko B shutter also fit into a Copal 0 shutter (both 35mm mount) by simply unscrewing it from the Seiko and screwing into the Copal?
I'm aware of the fact, that the lens elements (assuming they really fit into the Copal shutter) would probably need some fine tuning, but that's another question. I simply would like to know if the physical dimensions of both shutter threads are the same, before looking for a shutter.
A short answer would be of great help.
Thank's!
Friedemann
erie_patsellis
short answer, yes. Long answer, it's more cost effective to have the Seiko rebuilt, it's a fine shutter and will likely outlast you.
rodeo_joe1
All I can add is that my 75mm SA will screw into the Seiko shutter from an old Mamiya C3 camera, BUT a lip on the rear thread prevents proper seating. I've also had this Seiko apart because the cocking lever is broken, and I have to disagree about the build quality - mediocre to rough IMHO. It's much the same story with the Seiko shutters built into Kowa 6 lenses. Having said that, it depends on the fault whether it might be more economical to repair the shutter. It's probably worth getting an estimate.
