chris_newkumet2
Was just starting a wedding job the other day, shooting some simple getting-ready images indoors, when I noticed my flash explosures intermittently were totally overblasted. I was using a 5D, with 580EX mounted, set to f4, 1/60 sec., with flash down 1/2 stop... I've attached one of the images here. Some of the shots came out fine, but roughly every third one was like this. I swapped out the flash with a backup, and it worked fine after that. In fact, the offending flash worked fine on another body. I'm wondering now if it simply was not properly seated in the hot shoe the first time. Thoughts?<div></div>
picturesque
Most likely your hotshoe plate is loose. Check the following. http://www.conraderb.com/flashrepair/ It might be that it wasn't properly seated. In any case, it is a contact problem of some kind.
