Night photography books or instruction.

I am beginning an independent study for my photojournalism degree and my topic aim is to document the city I live in

with photos taken only at night. I am shooting digital and have access to any programs and most equipment. Does

anyone know any books about nighttime photography? Preferably instruction and informational rather than just books

of night photos

Thanks

1) Set the ISO to the fastest speed that renders noise level you think is acceptable
2) Set exposure comp to -2
3)

Shoot
That's a start, then just experiment. Especially with immediate feedback from digital, you can adjust

accordingly.
Just dive in and go out and shoot at night. In my opinion that's the best way to figure out what kind of images you can get

and what you want to accomplish and how you can go about accomplishing it.

Actually, Ray is OK-Right, but not perfectly right. :-) Here are the actual steps:

1) Set your ISO to the fastest acceptable speed
2) Set your lens wide open
3) Set your shutter for 1/15th* of a second
4) Shoot your scene
5) Chimp; If too dark/light, repeat steps 3-5 with increased/decreased shutter time

* that's with a Leica, of course. If shooting wonder-plastic, set to 1/30th and hope for the best.
