cochranb
I managed to drop my XT on to a sidewalk a couple of weeks ago. The only issue that I have found is the focus lights are no longer aligned with the boxes in the viewfinder. Is this something that is self repairable? I haven't opened up the body to see how the lights work. I would think that it is a simple light panel that is out of alignment. Any suggestions? Thanks, Bryan
nhut-nguyen
If you ready to upgrade to another body then go ehead and give it an open heart surgery, if not send it in to Canon. Good luck
cochranb
I am planning on doing that - but I would like to keep it as a backup / second camera / learning tool for the kids.
arie_vandervelden1
Try dropping the camera on the other side. Just kidding.
PuppyDigs
Probably the focusing screen or SI plate has shifted slightly. Sometimes my EOS 3 used to get out of alignment and I merely reseated the focusing screen and all was fine. Plenty of instructions on the net on removing and cleaning these parts. Sometimes the light’s all shining on me. Other times I can barely see. - Robert Hunter
