james_cooke
I have a 40mm Focotar with my V35 that has a bit of haze in it. Given the low prices for Darkroom items these days is it worth getting cleaned or simply get another lens off the bay? Rodenstock make a decent APO 40mm lens too I believe? wai_leong_lee
If you want autofocus you need to get it cleaned.
sandor_a._feher
It is not that hard to clean. You could do it yourself if you technically inclined. You must watch out for two small balls and springs that set the detent on the aparture control. I would stick with the 40mm Focotar.
clayh
I replaced my Focotar 40 with the Schneider APO-componon 40 and it is just a better lens than the focotar. The grain is sharp all the way into the corners. No regrets at all. Snag one if you can.
todd_adank
I agree with clay on this and I dont know about others but my v35 still retained auto focus.
