tk shots
does anyone know how the hasselblad digital cameras compare with the 501cm? are they as good?
Ed_Ingold
A 501cm can be a digital camera too, simply by attaching one of several available digital backs. The H series cameras are much more integrated with the digital backs, can be used with film backs too, and have auto exposure and auto focus. They can also cost as much as a mobile home. So what works for you, Tommy?
graham_mitchell
The biggest difference is the lenses. Hasselblad uses lenses from Fuji on the H series, whereas it was Zeiss making lenses for the V series. THe ergonomics and philosophy of the cameras are very different too. The only thing they have in common is the badge.
tk shots
i was toying with the idea of buying a digital hasselblad...i was wondering if they are as good as the 501cm....
Ed_Ingold
That's kind of a naive question for something ready to plunk down $20K to $40K for a camera. The Hasselblad digital H cameras are the defacto standard for the fashion industry. It's safe to assume that people are satisfied with the quality. Fujinon makes some of the finest lenses in the industry. Hasselblad feels their new lenses are better than the older Zeiss "V" lenses.
