joemikel1
Hope this is not a too stupid question to post here. I can´t decide myself (for a little club contest) wich one of this postprocessings is the most pleasent to the human eye. Color adjustments are the only difference betwen them. Could you help me choosing (A or B) and if you can comment your choice, even better!<div></div>
stwrtertbsratbs5
I prefer B. The color gradations are more subtle, particularly in the lower left corner of the shot. The other shot looks as if you're clipping the red channel. But I tend to like films such as Fuji Astia. Folks who prefer Velvia may prefer A. rainer_t
Between the two ... B ... but frankly, to me both look way overprocessed. (but that might be just my personal taste).
martijn_houtman
Another vote for B, especially because the colors don't look to over-saturated. I find the light falloff in the right-top corner of the sky a bit distracting in both (more so in A). Nice photo btw!
joemikel1
Oh, I must agree. It´s way oversaturated. I can´t belive I didn´t realize before. Thanks all for your comments. I will desaturate both. The B version was only saturated, while the in the A some color balannce was done.
bryceworld
The sky from A and the Ocean from B, put those together, then play with saturation - it's all personal taste
joemikel1
My final version after your kind help<div></div>
martijn_houtman
Hmm, a little less contrast in the clouds will make them look more natural. I would actually still go for B. Do you have an original for us to play with?
eric merrill
B over A. Your final version over B. You're on the right path. :) Eric
ted_springer
I like the color cast and sharpness of B, but I think the ripples flow better in A.
ronald_moravec1
B I don`t like colors saturated more than nature provides. Your mileage may vary.
roger_smith4
I'd start again with this file and work on it to preserve subtle variations in color (all yellow hues shouldn't just be pushed to "bright yellow").
John Crowe
The final version is getting close. I agree with Roger about trying to get even more realistic. There is room though to increase the contrast a little. From a composition standpoint I'd remove about 1/2 of the empty blue sky above the highest cloud. roger_smith4
I'd be trying to decrease overall contrast significantly to preserve detail iwth the light and keep the color from blocking up. Can you post the original? You have some well processed photos in your portfolio like this one that go easy on the contrast and saturation http://www.photo.net/photo/7063172
peter_j2
Final version is better and not as spicy hot as B (right). But, it depends on what you are trying to achieve.

joemikel1
Ok . Here is the original. I´m sorry, at the time I shooted it, I only used jpg format. I would like to see here the versions of each one (the same view size I used in the thread).
joemikel1
Sorry, here it is:<div></div>
deleteaccount
I think the original is fine and needed little adjustment, unless your after something more whacked out i'd be happy with something like this, see attachment.<div></div>
patricklavoie
B but oversaturated. i like John version as all look natural..the version you show was so saturated that the sky look fake and cheap...with no more detail : )
david.elliott
I took a bit of a different direction. I tried to make it more of a nighttime scene. A few hours later so to speak. Hope you dont mind.<div></div>
david.elliott
Sorry. Colors got squished when I added a border in photoshop. I messed up my color management settings somewhere along the line. Here it is without the border, direct from LR (slightly more saturated). I dont have time to go fix my error on the border version now unfortunately. Reading to do for class.<div></div>
joemikel1
John , David, beautiful aproach in both cases. I took a different vision, but love your postprocessings. Lots to learn here!
