garry_young1
Mis - the second colleague is not new. And I see what you mean about cropping to vertical 4x5. Will try it out a few times. Good point about the softness. Oh and Mis, your last comment sux!!!!!! - You see, I didn't forget!
garry_young1
Geesh, this Pentax forum is going to the dogs - Mis, you've lost the plot!! ;-))))))
garry_young1
By the way Mis,those are two old grannies, not kids! I was amazed at seeing old ladies swinging their legs! That's what caught my eye!
garry_young1
Uh, correction, one old lady and a younger lady. :-}

garry_young1
By the way everybody. I have the secret to successful communication on online forums. WHISKEY. Everything that would normally be offensive becomes hilarious!
mcmanamey
I'll bring the Tequila. And my personal rule is: don't post anything after midnight when i should be sleeping. Especially when I'm on the edge of a bad mood. I go straight to snarky and sarcastic. You should see me when people over in Weddings & Events start beating up on Videographers. I don't care the time of day, I go straight to offended and shooting back (so yes, I just close the window and come back over here). And somebody tell me who Zane is. Obviously he's been around Pnet longer than I.... but have I seen him over here before? It's been a very very long month. Or is it six weeks now? mcmanamey
And since I'm right here already - I have a cannister question. Are they based on over-all posts? A particular number? A ratio of my postings to the total on all of p-net? Just curious... since I started at like 3, recently dropped to ZERO (*gasp*), and have built back up to 1 in about 5 postings..... garry_young1
Maria, it must be that your recent posts are weighty in content! I have no idea how they work, but I just keep a regular "original thread" rate (about 2 a month) and heavy posts in other threads (about 12 meaningful things with 200 spelling corrections and fluff). Maybe I shouldn't be pointing out my fluff? ;-(
joshroot
They are a measure of recent site activity. We do not give out the exact numbers behind them, because it is not meant to be a race. They are just an indication of who has been active on the site over the past X number of months.

garry_young1
Josh - do you ever sleep?
joshroot
No, no I don't. You see, I have a 4 month old...
garry_young1
Ah. No wonder p-net has been working more smoothly lately - you are ever watching, never sleeping, constantly soothing and cooing - both towards the baby and, due to exhaustion, toward p-net too! le-plume
Josh: you mean you *don't* get to sleep more when the baby is four month old? As the father of a two month old, I find that highly disturbing... Otherwise: as a relative newbie to this forum, I try to stick to its spirit. Hope I'm not doing too bad with that.<div></div>
mcmanamey
Christophe - I've got something even more disturbing for you. Our (now 3) year old had been such a sleep problem for so long, that we barely got more sleep right after her 2nd bday than we did when she was 3 months old GOOD LUCK!!!! :D (cute cute cute baby up there) Josh - Thanks, really, but I was being silly.... musings
Even more disturbing news for both of you...My two sons are now 10 and 13 and they're up when they're supposed to be asleep and asleep when they're supposed to be awake. Mostly, it's with my older son -- texting all night, secret chat sessions with girlfriends...ugh. I suspect that it's only going to get worse the deeper into teenager-hood they go... mcmanamey
So - there IS an upside to having a 6 & 3yr old that think they have to be in my bed to fall asleep! As long as this habit keeps up, they CANT be up chatting & texting w/o us knowing about it! hmmmmmmm
musings
Very true, Maria, there is an upside to it now, but it may get awkward once they hit adolescence...:-)
mcmanamey
yeah - I am already tired of carrying em back to their own beds, and they're 40 pounds and 3 1/2 feet. Can't imagine it'll be easy, let alone possible when they hit 5 1/2 feet. (Although, I can't see the 6 year old ever weighing more than 60 pounds full grown....) :D
shaloot
by the time I reached here, I forgot what the world this thread is about... if i remember correctly it started about other forums, cameras, few photos, co-workers, babies, teenagers... oh and of course a suggestion of converting to B&W by you-know-who! :P
sleahy73
I think the thread was about the nice people/community here in the Pentax forum. Given the way the thread went, I can't say I can argue... I'm certainly happy here.
