dmanthree
I'd love that much resolution, but Sony's weak spot is noise. Specs mean little to me, I want to see some images produced by the camera. Oh, well. I guess the Nikon D4 will be following shortly...
sandysocks
Nikon went for high ISO. Sony went for high resolution. What is the 5D going to go for? Now, all we need is an economy priced full frame.
jason_hall5
>>>"Now, all we need is an economy priced full frame."<<< I thought we had that. The 5D sold for 1900.00 a few months ago, How much cheaper do you think it can get? Jason
photo_dark
It's not cool enough. Being ahead of the game by 3 years means nothing after 3 years. Then again, i'm one of those who will be buying a 5Dmk2
erik_ingvoldstad
Man, that's an ugly camera! Looks like a 70s Volvo (boxy, but good) ;-)
photos of hans koot
Agree with David M. but bost interesting is what the noise is going to do. 5Dmk2 is more interesting for me personally, however 50d maybe good alternative.
eric_arnold
"Nikon went for high ISO. Sony went for high resolution." odds are likely that the upcoming d4 will use the same 24.6 mp sensor as the a900. sony gets to the market first, which is good for them--it shows they are serious about DSLRs--but anyone already invested in nikon gear will have no reason to switch after photokina. still, anyone who's already into sony/minolta has to be happy with this announcement and the new 16-35/2.8 lens to accompany it. sandysocks
Eric, your version the d4 would be interesting since the A900 comes in at the same price as the D700. Two full frames by one company at the same price? How would you choose? Jason, I don't know, but a full frame Rebel should be about as cheap as it ever gets. And we haven't seen anything like a Sony 100 or a D60 Nikon equivalent in full frame yet, so Yes, I expect it to get cheaper.
photos of hans koot
Rl, very likely it will show up later, and with better high iso and speed performance.
