alexander_gisoldi
Does anyone know if the film holder that came with the Epson 3170 accomodates 6x9 negatives full frame without cropping anything off? The opening in the holder is 3 1/4 inches wide. I guess I'd need to know the width of 6x9 format. I've read 84mm. If that's the case it'll cut off 2mm or so. Not much I suppose. Thanks for any input. andrea_ingram2
Don't think the holder is quite wide enough. I still use it for 6x9 tho and crop a little off.
paulh
Yes, it does do 6x9 negatives. I used to use it to scan the negs from my various 6x9 folder. You should bear in mind that most cameras don't shoot a full 60mm x 90mm. Most are 56mm x 80-85mm. If you really do need the full 90mm width, you could modify the holder a bit, or get a 3rd party one from somehwere like betterscanning.com Paul
alexander_gisoldi
Thanks all for your answers. I want to pick up a 6x9 folder soon and just wanted to make sure I could use the scanner I have. Eventually I'd like to upgrade to a Coolscan 9000 to better scans negs from my other medium format cameras, but that's more of an investment now that I went digital. Thanks again.
