joshroot
Howdy folks, In an effort to bolster the art of and participation in RF photography, I'm working on building up some morecontent in the"Leica" area of the site. One of the first things I'm going to do is to create a "History of the M" article tohelp introduce people to the different M's and what the differences are. Sure, there are other articles like thison the web, but I'd like to have one here on PN. So, I'm looking for one image each of the M2, M3, M4, M5, M6, M7 MP, & M8. I don't need to get all fancy with thedifferent variations, I'm just looking for something to illustrate the article. So if you have a "camera porn"image you think would fit the bill, I'd love to see it.

joshroot
I should also mention that these images could be like Steve's above, or they can be more like some of the images on this old thread: http://www.photo.net/leica-rangefinders-forum/00Gc1C Just so long as they show the whole front of the camera. Karim Ghantous
Perhaps you should use, where possible, Leica's official product images (I think there is a press/PR section on their site). They might even let you scan old magazine ads of older models if necessary.

joshroot
John & John, If I can get them, I'll be happy to have them. Same as with the Hexar M, any of the M mount voigtlanders, the R-D1, the Zeiss Ikon, and so on. But I wanted to cover my bases first. I'm not discounting the importance of m4-2 or m4-p. Karim, This a photo.net article and I would rather promote photo.net members if possible rather than using Leica's canned press-release images. joshroot
I don't think you can hotlink from RFF.
aizan_sasayama
i just checked their terms of use, and on the very bottom of the page it says, "You may link to content on this site but you may not reproduce any of it in whole or part without written consent from its owner." i am the owner, so everything's ok. =)
joshroot
No, I just meant that I do not think it is technically possible to hotlink from them. At least not in the way that you did it. That's why your image isn't showing up.
erikhaugsby
But Aizan's image is showing up, at least for me. It's a black Hexar RF with a Hexar 28mm f/2.8.
john_r._fulton_jr.
Josh, I hope you'll use photos of Leica M's that are straight and original cameras. There are some wonderful cameras pictured here, but showing an M with some exotic covering might lead somebody to believe that all M3's are red. Again, I'm fine with what folks do with their camera - have at it - but for instructional purposes it would be helpful to have them as original as possible with no add-ons or non Leica/Leitz accessories. 'Just my opinion.
joshroot
John, that is my goal (though I would not be against showing a couple variations of a given body, including "tricked out" versions). But in some ways, it all depends on what images I get.
