Hi,

My dad is entering some pics in a photo contest. This is what it says he needs. Can someone advise me

Format for Submissions

Digital images: Digital images on disk must be accompanied by 8x10 inch prints on photo paper.

Images must be: HORIZONTAL, 300 dpi, jpeg or tiff, 8 bit and at least 9x12 inches. Digital pictures

taken with a 6-megapixel camera or larger are preferred.

I don't understand what they are saying. Do they want the printed images 8x10 but the digital images cropped to 9x12?

Help is appreciated.

Elaine

They just want the 8x10 as a reference. It can be any size on the 8x10 paper with white space all around it. So, I'd make your final file (9x12 @300dpi) for the contest and then copy/paste/free transform and shrink it onto an 8x10 canvas size so it keeps your image the same as it is on disc.
