kfoster70 Posted June 9, 2008 Share Posted June 9, 2008 New 16-85mm, 18-200mm, 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6, 105mm micro, 400mm f/2.8, 500 f/2.8, 600mm f/2.8 are all examples of VRII. All other VR lenses are VR I including the 70-200mm f/2.8, 80-400mm, 18-55mm, 55-200mm, 24-120mm, 200mm f/2, and 300mm f/2.8, and 200-400mm. These are all advertised as 3 stops of reduction, the VRII lenses above are advertised as up to 4 stops of reduction.This information was taken directly from NikonUSA's web site. jerryjohnson Posted June 10, 2008 Share Posted June 10, 2008 I don't know what the difference is, but I have the 105mm f/2.8 and love it. The slowest shutter speed I've gotten away with, with VR on, is 1/6sec. I haven't owned any of the older VR lenses, so I couldn't tell you what the differences are. Hope someone can elaborate..
