ryancolligan
How do I downsize my pictures on my computer so they're the right size to upload on the site.
pjmeade
Hello Ryan, I'm going to asume you have some form of picture aditor on your computer. 1) open your image in the editor and look for the menue marked image (you may need to explore if it's not an adobe editor) 2) image - resize - image size 3) set the image size to about 800px, sharpen whould be good at this point 4) save for web (use a new file name to avoid overwriting the starting file) 5) upload hope this helps. bobatkins
You might want to take a look at this article http://www.bobatkins.com/photography/digital/digital_image_resizing.html If you don't have Photoshop or Elements you can use Ifranview or Photofiltre, both of which are free and easily found though Google. There are also a bunch of free utilities which will resize images and again you can find them though Google (try "free image resizer") 800 pixles wide is a good size to upload
colin carron
If you want to post an image to a forum then the maximum width should be set to 511 pixels otherwise the image comes out as a link. Also for most forums you need to add a title as well.
James G. Dainis
How did we come up with that 511 pixel size anyway? Maybe with the larger monitors used today, it is time to upsize it. James G. Dainis
JDMvW
Just an experiment. Here's an image that I resized to 1 dpi, I'm curious to see how it comes into the display.<div></div>
JDMvW
Well it worked, but if you drag the image off to your desktop it's still 360 inches by 240 inches at 1 dpi! Sorry, moderators, just poking my little stick at the funny looking blob in the tree.
