bryantan
As compared to what? It's not going to look as nice as a 70-200, but it's okay. Personally, it looks too harsh and has enough weird shapes to be distracting.
juans eye
I havent critically looked at bokeh much, but having 8 blades on this lens, I thought it would be really good. In mine eyes, the out of focus points of light are almost geometric in shape. I just wanted to know if this sample shows an ok (I know it aint great) or is it really bad? Thanks in advance for you opinions.
bobatkins
It's what you'd expect. Whether you "like" it or not is a personal opinion. I've seen better and I've seen worse.
jeff_higdon
I'm happy with the bokeh. Here is a photo taken with the 70-300 IS. (My daughter broke her wrist a week before her annual dance recitals, so this was taken the day the cast was placed on her arm...)
jeff_higdon
Here's another. The sundial has a bit less of the effect but still nice, I think.

fred_c1
Bokeh is not a static quality. Depending on types of highlights, background and subject distance, focal length/zoom position and aperture, even the same lens will have different bokeh under different conditions. suhaskulkarni
I Just wonder if anyone has done comparison of Bokeh with same setup, same camera, same time for 70-300 IS and 70-200 f4 (non-IS)?
