mercsadies
Hello Photo People - I realize this is more of a design question - but I noticed that there are a lotof multi-talented people who comment on here as well. I am converting VHS to DVDfor a lady. She would like me to design a custom cover for the case. However, Ididn't get a whole lot of details on what she would like - and she hard to get ahold of. The DVD is going to be home-video clips of her son who passed away. Sheis going to email some photos (because the tape quality isn't that good) toincorporate in the cover. Any suggestions on a tasteful way to lay this type cover out? I am feelingapprehensive about putting too much religious art into it. I would like to keepit simple but I don't know what is a "standard" look for a DVD of a passedperson - especially since he was young. Thanks,Mercsadies
richsimmons
It starts with the photos you get. At least it might for me. You don't have to put any religious symbols on it. Emphasis the life, not the death. People want to remember the good times. Talk to the lady. Perhaps she has her own ideas of how she wants him remembered. Find out more about him to point you in the right direction.
mercsadies
Therein lies the problem. I am looking for something fairly generic to start with. Because I may not be able to get any input from her. I am fully anticipating having to mail everything back to her!
richsimmons
I'd wait for the photos and see where they lead you. But try to stay away from dark colors, keep it bright and lively.
toddr
Try a photo of sunlight beams coming through trees.
