love4leica
I am being offered a very nice M4-P Black with a Black MR4 meter. The seller wants me to make a sensible offer. Any ideas as to what is a reasonable price to offer, please? Thank you.
paul_neuthaler
$750.00 -- but no higher than $900.
sid_chatterjee
Make sure it has had a recent, about last 5 years, CLA from a Leica trained technician.
exabetal
With the low dollar 750 would be an extremely good price I would think. And if it was recently cla'd expect 900 at least!
Rob F.
I agree with Paul. $899.00 should be enough to get one from a dealer, with a guarantee and 5-day return privileges. Or if it's a private sale, but with a recent CLA from a known technician, that would still be fair. Otherwise, a lower price would be fair. $750 for an M4-P with no known problems sounds about right. maddoc
I just bought one (again) two weeks ago. Came with original box, manual, warranty card, strap and cap, (recently CLA) from private seller. I payed 900 $ for it, optical it is 9.5 out of 10. I also got a Leica meter MR4 in mint condition (from a different seller) with case and box for 250$. leicaglow
About 3 months ago(?) bought M4-P, M4 winder, MR4 meter, 50mm f/2 Summicron on fleabay for about $860 as I recall. All in EX shape, except the meter was a little flaky.
aplumpton
Very subjective. Very nice condition to some means near mint, to others just excellent or excellent minus. A world of difference. A real mint M4-P should go for more than 1200$, whatever the price is for a mint M-6 or M-3. Try to find a real mint M4-P. Not easy. A super instrument that I find more trustworthy than my (now sold) classic M-6, so I still have it and am in no rush to part with it. Certainly not for a pricey MP!
