brian_bahn
Ok. I'm sure I know the answer to this but I will ask anyhow. I have a Vivitar flash for my old OM1...can I use it for my new e510? I haven't researched it at all yet because I figure a simple yes/no answer from the kind and knowledgable folks here will save me a lot of time. Not that I don't like to search for my own answers I just figure I really know very little about flash that I wouldn't know which keywords or phrases to start searching under. BTW I'm guessing the answer is no. Thanks as always
leandro_dutra1
If voltage on the flash contacts is not too high, it should work. Which model exactly?
brian_bahn
I am at work now. I will have to check this evening to let you know which model.
davidlong
Ideally you would measure the voltage on your particular flash, but if you don't have a voltmeter, there's a table of measured voltages for various old flashes here. brian_bahn
Well, it's a 283 model made in Japan so according to the chart David provided it won't work. Bummer. At least I didn't think it would work to start with so it's not a huge let down. Haha Thanks for the quick answers. Appreciated.
