nachi_abrams
Presently I am a Canon user. I had the glorius opportunity to handle a Nikon D300 this Sunday. When I focused on a subject, no focus points lit up. Being accustomed to Canon where the focus point you choose lights up in red, I was surprised. I had the camers set to use all 51 points. I did print the pictures that I took and they all came out nice and sharp. Please advise.
elliot1
Like Canon, Nikon DSLR cameras give you the option as to whether to illuminate the focus point - see option A6 in the custom settings menu.
nachi_abrams
Thanks. I am having a little trouble navigating the Nikon menu system. It seems more complicated than Canon's. Perhaps, I am just more accustomed to Canon's.
edmondcarson
Did you happen to have the focus mode set to continuous. The focus points only light up in single shot mode.
mauricio_orozco
Welcome to Nikon new AF system technology Nachi. This camera only light up the focus point when in single shot mode ( S ). While in Dynamic + C ( Continuos ) or Auto-Area AF + C, you will not be able to see the focus point before the shooting but after. While on these two modes, don't worry about the focus poing not showing up !! The magic of this new tecnology will take care of that automatically giving priority to human beings in the picture or your main subject. It will track down the subject and will focus automatically, so don't worry and try to get use to.<div></div>
nachi_abrams
Thanks everyone. I guess this will all just take time getting used to. Great shot of the plane!
