ndnbrunei
By chance I recently noticed the remarkable Olymps Pen F and was wondering what people think of them. I am also curious about the 38mm f1.8 lens and how it performs. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Regards, Andrew.
furcafe
I love the Pen F cameras. Stephen Gandy has a nice overview of the F series on his Cameraquest site: http://www.cameraquest.com/olypenf.htm As does the Sub Club: http://subclub.org/shop/penf.htm Since I like the brightest possible viewfinder & am comfortable using a handheld meter, I opted for the F & FV models. The only real downside I've found in using them is that they're on the loud side, not that it makes a huge difference in most of my photography. The 38/1.8 was the standard "normal" lens & is a fine performer.

Both are excelent lenses.<div></div>
riz
Hi, I have PEN-D and I love it. I am looking for PEN-F though, heard much of that in high words. Good luck! Regards, Riz
bjscharp
I have a PEN-FT, and four or five lenses and accessories (2x teleconverter, macro-ring set). They haven't been used for years though, and are probably going to end up for sale anytime soon.
carbon_dragon
They're nice little cameras with very good lenses, but the 1/2 frame negative size is a tall obstacle to overcome, especially since regular full frame 35mm cameras aren't all that big themselves -- Olympus OM-1 and its descendents being a case in point. patrick j dempsey
The Pen fixed lens cameras were really great little cameras as well. Not as fancy as the F series, but solidly built and very sharp lenses.
