melvin_krick
Hello to all. Does anybody know how to take apart one of the Ektanar lenses that fit on this 50 year old camera? It had 3 interchangeable lenses. Some of the aperture blades came loose from their pins in one of my lenses. I think I can clean and reinstall the blades, if I can find out how to open up the lens. Any clues would be appreciated. BTW those persons who have trouble with the range finder not working, should run the R/F thru its full range after reinstalling the lens. This usually gets the R/F working again.
chuck_foreman1
MElvin, I'm the last person to be giving advice. But I noted another poster mentioing using heat and "slowly" warming to almost melting temperature to seperate elements. You need to consider how you might get them back together again after such an operation!
mark_e2
I have no direct experience with those lenses. However, Ektars are notorious for using friction rings on their optics, meaning you would need the proper size flexiclamp to unscrew them. To get to the shutter/iris, you will not need to separate any elements. You will remove only element groups.
