konstantinos_athanasiadis1664881385
I have just received my "4-Channel Wireless Flash Receiver" I tried to connect it to my Canon580EXII but the flash doesn't seem to have a jack to connect the cable into. Does anyone know how to guide me through? If it isn't necessary to connect receiver with flash via cable then perhaps I must adjust my flash settings? Should I set it to slave? I tried it with no results. The flash does goes off, when I connect the transmitter with the receiver via cable when pressing the test button, only then. My camera is a Canon 400D. mike_young1
The EXII has a rubber cover on the right side that hides two jack recepticles. Do you not have the book for the 580?

picturesque
The 580EX II does have a PC socket, but in flash manual mode, I believe it is non functional. Michael Bass (he has a blog--google it) can make the socket fully functional, for a price. Or, you can get a hotshoe adapter for flashzebra.com, but I believe there are some caveats using the 580EX II this way--I am not sure of the specifics. You can try asking Lon, the owner of flashzebra, or do some research on the strobist forum on flickr.
