drew bedo
Ok...Took the PLUNGE! I will be getting an Epson V750 scanner and a R2400 printer. I work in 4x5 and 8x10 and up to now have had others scan and print my work. I'm a babe in the woods here and need to know the easiest way to educate myself. Please be gentle and keep it simple. roger_smith4
A book like Real World Adobe Photoshop will give info on scanning, printing and the meat that ties them together- photo editing. For scanning start with scantips.com and the archives here. Topics to pay special attention to- film flatness and film holders and shadow detail. For printing try a few sample paper packs from places like inkjetart.com to get a feel for what type of paper you like. Have fun! Roger
diane_madura
Drew, I found this site to be the most informative and thorough of all. Better than any book I had seen. All of his information in his book is on his Web site, but I bought the book just because I prefer to read out of the book. I think since you're using 4 X 5 and 8 X 10, it's probably worth your while to be thorough. http://www.scantips.com/

beartooth1
I have the almost the same set up (V700) instead of the 750... I work almost all digital other than the boxes of slides, negs, and prints from the film days. I love the combo. I use Ilford papers with great success. http://www.ilford.com I find the Epson Software works better than the copy of Silverfast that comes as an add on. Good Luck ;)
