Canvas size and lens correction problem

When I am trying to put frame on my photo (canvas size) after putting

vignetting from lens correction filter, the colors on the canvas size are not

showing up, and wouldn't let me make a frame. However, if I do the canvas size

and then apply vignetting through lens correction filter, it allows it to do

that but shows up in the frame too.

 

Please advice, what am I doing wrong. I want to first put vigneting effect in

the photograph and then apply canvas size.

That filter unlocks the layer "Background," so when you change the canvas size, you're seeing

the "checkerboard" behind the image, correct?

 

If so, flatten your your image (Layer > Flatten Image) then change the canvas size.
