RvdK
My old D70 (firmware 2.00, used as a back up camera) has developed a problem. It starts formatting by itself... Lately, sometimes when I get the camera out of the bag it shows 'FOR' in the display while the camera is still turned off. When I turn it on the number of available images is shown again. This had happened around 5 times in the last month or so and never happened before. There is no chance both format buttons were pressed togehter by accident. Neither one of the buttons seems stuck, so that's not the cause either. Anyone?
CharlesBecker-Toronto
Ron-I also get the same thing once in a while with my D-70. I just remove and reinsert the memory card and that takes care of it though sometimes I have to do it twice. Don't know why. regards, cb :-)
kbev
Same experience as Charles on my D70... Just re-jiggering the card seems to fix the symptoms. Although I not sure what the issue is.
wpahnelas
i'd eliminate the memory card itself as the culprit first, and if the symptoms occur on more than one, i'd do a hard reset of the camera. if that doesn't help, it probably needs to be looked at. brian_everhart1
My D70 does this only on one memory card, a SanDisk UltraII 2gb. I formatted it using my computer, then again in-camera. It seems to have stopped "acting up" for now. I used it my D300 successfully, but I try not to use it for capturing anything I can't afford to lose.
