icog
Hello All, If you've been following my recent post you know I've been frustrated by a leak in my A-1 after a recent service and change of leather. I'm pleased to announce that after my last post and input from my fellow pnetters the mystery is solved. First I owe Steve of the Camera Clinic an apology. I thought he was nuts when he said he suspected the leather. My own testing seemed to confirm that it wasn't. Today I taped the memo holder. Only the memo holder. I didn't do any in depth testing like taping each side because if this turned out to be the problem I knew it had to be coming from the bottom of the memo holder. That was the only place I didn't apply tape to the leather(there's no leather there). But I did apply tape to the door seam and that strip overlapped the memo holder. The subjects of my test roll probably only excite me. All were taken with a 300mm f4 with a cheap 2x on store brand 400 speed film. Thanks once again to all that took the time to respond and offer suggestions. Without this forum as a sounding board I would have never found the source of my problem. -Lionel<div></div>

richterjw
Congrats on the fix. I just fixed a problem with my own beloved A-1, which ended up being as simple as swapping doors with an unused AE-1. Best, jr
mark_stephan2
Lionel, congrats on solving your light leak problem. The pictures look great. I think the bird in your photo may be a turkey buzzard, at least that's what we call them in east TN.
