Canvas size - background color not changing

I don't know what I did, but this is what is happening.

 

I want to make a fram using the canvas size and I am trying to choose a color.

But no matter what I choose, the color is always gray.

I assume you are trying to do this in your computer. Is this on a PC or a Mac? What software program are you using? How are you choosing the color?

If I understand your problem correctly, here's the answer. When changing the canvas size, the "canvas color" becomes the background color you have set. If you are changing your color using the color picker, select the desired canvas color, hit ok, then hit "x" (on a PC) and that color will then move to the background color. Now stretch your canvas and it should be the appropriate color.

Guessing that you are using PS then this should work.

 

Image -> canvas size. shortcut ctrl+alt+c

 

Set width and height to desire amount.

 

Make sure the relative box is checked.

 

On the canvas extension colour drop down either clcik on the drop down and choose "other" or click on the small box next to it to open the colour picker, choose the colour you wnat and clcik ok.

 

Click ok in the canvas size dialogue box and you should then have your border.

Are you in grayscale or RGB?
