lola_gunch
In regard to UV filters what is considered the best for digital cameras? I'm thinking either the B+W MRC - Hoya Pro-1 What?
Ed_Ingold
MRC coating is very hard, and sheds dirt and water. When choosing a filter, get the one with the best multi-coating. B+W, Heliopan are very good (brass) as are Hoya filters (aluminum). UV filters are nearly always purchased merely to protect lens from damage. Whether they have any effect on haze is questionable. erik_christensen3
Go for the B+W with brass frame. There are many examples that the Hoya aluminum frames get slightly dented with the result that it is extremely difficult to get the filter off.
