paulo_cortez
Hi, After a long wait, I finally decided to buy the 5D & 24-105mm kit. A rebate is currently running (March 1st to June 30th) in Europe, so there's thechance of saving 260 euros (200 body + 60 lens). I went to a store this weekendand as I was preparing to pay, I noticed that the box had a sticker referring tothe Canon rebate but...on 2007. The kit was obviously in immaculate-untouchedcondition but one thing worried me: - Will Canon send the rebate money for an equipment from 2007 stocks but boughton 2008? The seller told me "yes" but he wasn't quite sure, so my acquisition is onstandby. I've already checked Canon's website but no answer to this question. Thanks for your replies, Paulo
bobatkins
Rebates depend on when the purchase is made. It doesn't matter how long the retailer has had the item in stock. I'd expect quite a few items bought today to have been in stock at the retailer in 2007.
mike_stemberg
If there is a 'Canon Rebate' advertised and 'in progress' Paulo, I would have thought that it is the date on the receipt that matters.. and not what might be printed on the packaging. Just my tuppence worth!
pjmeade
The amount of cash back is less than the previous promotion. Last time I got 135 GBP (I think) for the 70-200/2.8 IS, this time the offer is 75GBP. There's a couple of non L lenses in the offer, one is the 100/2.8 macro, which at the cash ack price makes it an attractive alternative to the 85/1.8 as a portrait lens. paulo_cortez
When I asked the seller, a guy that spends his days selling photographic equipment, and don't get an 100% sure "yes", almost "just buy it and we'll see what happens", IMHO I've a logical reason to have my doubts. Obviously, the rebate incompatibility sounds illogical but I've seen more illogical things happening. Anyway, what matters is that I'll have soon a 5D in my hands. Thanks a lot, Paulo
freelance
In pixmania-pro UK they are offering a rebate on the 5d and give a link: http://pan.fotovista.com/dev/gui_web/grafx/OP_mea/2007/sem40/canon_20th/007_1003/uk/pop_up.jpg In the link the rebate is obsolete. I have to ask them. See the product: http://www.pixmania-pro.co.uk/uk/uk/135923/art/canon/eos-5d.html
steve_bright1
Have a look at this link and see if it helps.

http://canon2008promotions.onlinerebates.com/

I benefited from a couple of rebate offers in the last year and that just involved filling in an online form, printing it off and sending it with a copy of the receipt and the barcode from the product box.
