Corrupt settings of camera raw (JPG) after PSCS3 migration

Recommended Posts

Hello - I got a problem with the brightness (and for some files a few other

settings like + in contrast) settings when importing *.jpg files into camera raw

from bridge.

I just migrated to a new PC hardware with a new XPpro and PSCS3 installation.

All PSCS3 and bridge are at current patch level by PS automatic patching.

The imaging monitor is calibrated.

There was no apparent problem with the data disks and *.nef (Nikon) as well as

*.tif and *.psd files are fine.

I can see all files in bridge but when I view jpg files I can see that the

images increase in brightness when bridge updates the previews.

All jpg files when opened in camera raw show a +57 increase in brightness. If I

manually return the slider to 0 all is ok.

The original files look fine when opened directly into PS circumventing the ACR

via bridge.

It is not a total disaster but it is annoying. I would like to cure the problem

at "the roots" if possible rather than batch processing the files. Some files

may actually have settings by intention and I would overwrite these.

Any suggestions?

Thanks for looking.

Walter
