tomhansonphotography
I just purchased Elements 6 and am looking for a good tutorial on skin softening. I saw a great one on Layers Magazine for CS3 using smart filters but seem to be having trouble finding anything for Elements 6. As I have been playing with E6 I am becoming more and more frustrated that the program is not deep enough to take care of my needs. I do realize that I just bought it and I have a learning curve to work through. I am wondering if I should have purchased CS3. Any ideas? Thanks for your help! rene gm
If you had the money, CS3 was better. But PSE6 will do for quite a while. And you have the organizer, which is missing in CS3. But I admit that I do things like skin softening with layer masks missing in PSE6. You soften a layer, then paint the mask for the layer on the necessary places. In PSE6, you will have to use a soft selection on the new layer, deleting everything outside.
dorothy_beriss
Tom - I will be getting Elements 6 for the Mac in a few weeks. Never having used Photoshop or Elements before I've been exploring all over on the web to see if I can find tutorials. Here's one that you might find helpful. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Y1H8z8wHew
