allenspencer
I'm looking for something under or not far over $100. Good quality, but not exactly a Nikon or something "amazing".
tommyinca
Check Fujifilm E550. $92 used at Amazon. Full manual functions and takes good picture with high ISO 400 low lights. You can learn a lot from it and still use it when you up-grade later on.
davek57
I would recommend almost any camera in Canon's A-series. You don't specify what uses or interests will drive your purchase, so it's tough to suggest any specific model. I would suggest visiting dcresource.com and reading a few reviews. One caveat on Fujifilm digital cameras: although many have excellent sensors, most current models use the xD memory card, which is generally viewed as more expensive and somewhat slower than the widely used SD card. (Recent exception: the Fujifilm F40fd, which can be a great starter camera with fine low-light performance).
Rich B NYC
I'll second Dave's suggestion. I've owned a few A series Canons and they are very good cameras. They take AA batteries and can be had used for under $100 depending upon the model. You can check www.keh.com for exact prices.
allenspencer
Thanks. I've just bought a Canon A570, 7.1 Mega-pixels, 4X zoom and loads of storage.
