boeboi
I just purchased an 8-core MacPro Tower to render pics with CS3. I want some recommendations for a flat screen display in the $500 price range. Would I need to buy a calibration unit if I spend $500 for the monitor? Thanks! eric_brody
The Planar 2411 monitor is a nice machine. I got one and saved quite a bit over the Apple 23, also highly regarded. I might have gone for an Eizo if I had chosen to spend that much, next time. You will need to get a calibration unit regardless of what monitor you get. You spend a LOT of time looking at the monitor, get a good one, especially since you got such a fancy computer. Good luck. Eric
tmarts
I recently got a View Sonic VP2030 for under 500$. It calibrates very well and also has a pivot function.I like it a lot, good color and a joy to use.It is standard aspect ratio which I like. If you prefer a wide view this is not the one.If it fits your needs its quite nice for the money. Enjoy your new tool. T.M.
marshall
I've been happy with the 23" ACD, so I'm not sure I can help with that part. However, the answer is yes, you would still need to buy calibration gear.
