Color Management and Printing Trouble-Shoot

Recommended Posts

I can't seem to get a "what you see is what you get" print. I use Eye 1 Match 3

to calibrate my lcd monitor. I light my workspace at about 5500 Kelvin. I also

use Colorbyte's Image Print to print to my Epson Stylus 2200 printer. (I have

run nozzle checks to confirm that the ink dispenser is clear). My prints still

don't look like what I see on screen; they are darker and some what more red.

What is wrong? I believe that my monitor, a Dell 2005FPW lcd, is sub par for

advance photo editing needs, BUT IS THAT REALLY THE PROBLEM? Any insight would

be appreciated. Thanks!

Just the nature of the beast reflected vs transmitted. The differnence is huge. A good

monitor is the only way to really judge your images. It is like looking through a dirty lens

than does not represent the actual image you are looking at. Try this monitor test, it will

judge your monitor and/or profile. It should look smooth.
