abe_hollander
Anyone have any issues reading SDHC cards? My wife took a P&S with her to India recently, and I gave her a brand new 4GB SDHC to fill. We can see the pix on the camera, but neither my internal SD reader nor an external reader that I have can allow me to read the card. My PC's about 2 months old. I've tried flipping the locking switch, but no dice. I haven't tried it in my K10d. Thanks in advance.
bruce_rubenstein___nyc
SDHC cards need a different reader than SD cards. There aren't that many SDHC card readers out their either. For now you can just use the USB cable that came with the camera to copy files to the computer.
sattler123
You might still have an isseu with XP. Microsoft has an unofficial fix for this issue. The thing is that you have to send an email to Microsoft and describe your problem and then they will send you the patch - weird, but that's what I had to do to read my 4GB SDHC cards and I needed a new card reader - got mine from eBay, works like a charm for almost no money. godfrey
Yes, you need a new reader. I recommend the Sandisk Extreme card reader. About $20, SD/SDHC/CF compatible, very fast and very compact. Godfrey
abe_hollander
Thanks everyone. Hard to understand... my Father-in-law's external card reader (over a year old) was able to read the SDHC to his XP Pro laptop. That's how we first viewed the photos. Didn't think I'd have trouble when I got home. Juergen: Please say some more about the email. Can't imagine getting a response from "contact@microsoft.com" or something like that... Any other details? What email address did you use? Link from a support page at MS?

abe_hollander
Juergen, thanks! I got the update, but still no luck with my readers... I'll have to explore a new one. Abe
