bill_carriger2
I have a M7, only a couple of years old, and I have noticed in a two or three places a small "blister" in the camera covering. Nothing major, just annoying for such a new camera. I don't really want to send it back, it's been in a couple of times already for unrelated problems, but I would like to get rid of these. Any suggestions short of having it re-covered? I wondered if the adhesive they use is heat sensitive and I could use the tip of a warm mounting iron, like used for mounting prints, to re-attach the cover. Thanks. vick_ko
If you want other coverings, go to www.cameraleather.com Also try this ebay seller: aki-asahi Vick
mpo
Both sellers mentioned by Vick are very good options, Cameraleather is clearly superior. I bought coverings from both and recovered myself.
kens
I don't have any experience with this, but I would think the tip of an iron might scald and maybe burn or melt the surface of the covering. Did you buy it new? Is the camera under warranty? If so I wouldn't even mess with it - have Leica fix it. If used or no longer under warranty then probably any local repair could recement it.
