vaantique
I recently found this flash pan at an estate sale and have searched high and low on the internet trying to find some information about it or the company. I've never seen a picture or drawing of one like it. It has a threaded hole in the bottom to attach to a tripod, so I'm guessing its for outdoor night time photography. Could this be only part of a flash? Maybe missing a reflector that went on the tripod with it? Thanks for any information you can give.

alex_lofquist
From whence comes the expression "a flash in the pan!"
clay2
Flash in the pan is from flintlock musket flashing powder in pan without igniting main powder charge in barrel. That looks like a tray for photographic flash powder (B4 flash bulbs). Threaded hole probably for handle. They had no back reflectors. Smile ! Fash, whoomp, smoke, flames, made photography quite exciting ! Google Kodak Flash Powder or the like. /Clay
