kellyka
I have a question that Im hopeing someone can answer. I have always shot jpg but would like to start shooting RAW. I decided to mess around with it today and set my camera on sRAW, took some shots and then tried to import them into Lightroom however it said "The files use an unsupported color mode" and nothing imported. I have tried looking for help on both adobe websites and through canon but I cant figure out what im doing wrong. Im sure its somthing stupid im overlooking! rainer_t
Since you mention "sRAW" rather than "RAW" I assume you are using a camera like the EOD 40D which has two different raw formats ... sRAW (the small RAW) and RAW (the standard RAW). Lightroom and other Adobe products will support RAW but not necessarily sRAW. Try to set your camera to RAW and try again. Alternatively, you can use the Raw-converter that comes with the camera. DPP (in case of the EOS 40D) supports sRAW.

rainer_t
Which version of Lightroom are you using? I just did a quick netsearch ... and it seems for support of the 40D you need Lightroom 1.2 and/or the Camera-Raw plugin 4.2. (The latter can be downloaded from Adobe for free). kellyka
That must be it! I am using 1.1. I have been avoiding installing the 1.2. Awsome I will try that right now! Thanks!

robert_martin5
Kelly, each time a new camera is available the RAW converters have to be updated to support RAW files from the new cameras. Adobe and others make the updates available as needed.
robert_fisher4
The latest version of LR is, I think, 1.3. It's good to have the latest version for bug fixes, improvements and full support for the latest cameras.
godfrey
Lightroom v1.3.1 is the correct, current version. I've been using it since it came out with no issues at all. Godfrey
